For competitive rates, Phone Power serves every one, from a single-line residential customer to a corporate call center, and everything in between.

Phone Power usually has several distinct offers related to their Freedom Unlimited residential package. If you are willing to sign a long-term contract, Phone Power can guarantee lower rates. Then again, their monthly package isn’t exorbitant, either.

Each unlimited plan, regardless of the term (24 month, 12 month, monthly, or annual) will get you virtually unlimited calling. You can take inbound calls without a limit, and are granted a high outbound calling threshold of 5,000 minutes a month. Free equipment, a second line, and 60 minutes of international calling are also incldued with each plan.

Phone Power Review: The transfer was very smooth

Posted on: Feb 25, 2011
Pros
Free number transfer, savings
Cons

I’ve had the service for over a year now and have been very happy. I got a new number and when I was sure it was working for me (about three months down the line) I had my landline cancelled and the number transferred. The transfer was very smooth. It is definitely a savings at $20 a month at most (if you don’t want a contract). Cheaper if you do decide to. I recently added a virtual number for five bucks extra. It just rings on my main line but lets you have two phone numbers for cheap.

Phone Power: Reliabilty, price

Posted on: Jan 28, 2011
Pros
Reliability, Price
Cons

Since the price was so low I kind of expected problems, but surprisingly its worked just as well as my full price landline did. Not knowing a lot about how VOIP works, I wasn’t sure if them being in located on the west coast would be a problem since I’m in NJ, but apparently alot of their customers are on the east coast so I went for it and transferred my number. I travel around a lot for business so the free softphone is very nice. It worked just as they said it would and I’ve been saving quite a bit each month with plenty of features.

Phone Power Review - Until Recently, The Best Around in VoIP, But No Longer!

Posted on: Dec 06, 2010
Pros
Easy setup, great sound quality, tons of features.
Cons
Customer service / tech support quality dwindling fast! Errors on website I pointed out admitted by tech support that go unfixed despite 2 years of my advising them of such.

Until recently, I would have never dreamed of chastising this company, but their service and support is now heading down the tubes at flank speed. Unfortunately, call hold times to get to speak to customer service or tech support have become prohibitive. Half hour to an hour PLUS any time any day of the week, NOT GOOD!!! On 2 occasions over the past 2 1/2 years I've been a Phonepower subscriber, my voice mails and faxes mysteriously disappeared from my online account info. Went through hours of phone calls to find out what the heck happened. Still no resolution on the 2nd go around as I write this and I'm getting VERY FRUSTRATED.  As I write this review, my voice mail password all of a sudden doesn't work and blocked numbers are getting through. Over THREE hours on the phone alone this morning including hold times and I get a guy who sounded like he was either stoned or just got out of bed.

One nice feature they offer is the ability to have a blocked call list and have those calls go to voice mail or a busy signal, a handy tool for stopping annoying collection agency calls and the like DEAD in their tracks. Although you can have up to 50 numbers on that list, there's no indication on the site that there's a 50 number limit. The system allows you to enter more than 50 numbers with NO WARNING INDICATION that you've gone above the 50 number limit and numbers you enter beyond 50 limit will still get through. This is something I've been complaining about for the last 2 years. Despite the fact that whomever I talk to in tech support agrees this is a flaw in the design of the Phonepower website and they'll alert the web masters, after all this time, THEY'VE STILL DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT!

The insane call hold times are now the main reason I no longer recommend Phonepower as I used to ...... to everyone I know. As they've grown, they have not added customer service reps to handle the increase in subscribers, and like most businesses, are going all out to cut costs, AT THE CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE, AND IT NOW SHOWS!

Bottom Line: A service that started off great and was so for over 2 years, but now has all the signs of going downhill, FAST.

No more long distance charges!

Posted on: Oct 05, 2010
Pros
Customer service and features
Cons

No more long distance charges! Its a relief not having to worry how long I'm on the phone with my parents who live on the opposite coast due to cost per minute. I haven't used the service long enough to give a really thorough review as to the long term quality, but the many features such a the free second line and free long distance are great and it has worked nicely so far. I had to comment because of the customer service I received when ordering. I was a bit confused on some things but the girl clearly and patiently (big thing with me) explained things to me.

Phone Power: Smooth transition, keep your number, price

Posted on: Sep 21, 2010
Pros
Smooth transition, keep your number, price
Cons

I wish I had known about VOIP while I was shelling out 50 bucks a month for landline service. Surprisingly, the switch went smoothly ( I was a little worried about that) and I got to keep my number. I'm happy with my choice of Phone Power. Took a little over a week to be fully set which I think is pretty standard if your keeping a number. Service has been steady and I'm enjoying paying a fraction (14.95 plan) of what I was paying before.

Phone Power Review - Excellent for me now over a year.

Posted on: Sep 13, 2010
Pros
Stable platform and clear call quality, dials into bank accts requiring pass codes very well
Cons
None so far

The Phone Power service has been excellent for me now over a year.  I have tested 4 other main VOIP sevices and Ph Power has proved to be superior.

I would recommend this service based on a stable adapter, provisions and stays active.  do not have to reboot every other day... calls are dialed instantly and

the called phone rings in nano-seconds.   Clear crisp voice sound.  Excellent features including voice mail,  with a ring to notify you have VM.  Price is good and

the Service is excellent.  only had to call CS  once and they were very nice and helpful.   Highly recommend.Smile

Pros
U.S. customer service. Price. Features
Cons
Haven't seen any so far

Finally customer service in the U.S.! I was so glad to hear that when I called. I didn't have to spend a lot of time on the phone with them since they clearly explained the answers to any of my questions. I give them a big thumbs up on their technical support. I had an agent walk me through the set up, which actually turned out to be pretty easy. Great price, helpful support, and my service has been steadily reliable. Also echoing other customers that are happy to be able to utilize that cloned second line feature to have a couple calls going at once. I like to spread the word when I find a reliable company and will be referring my friends to take advantage of the $10 refer a friend credit.

Unfortunately I signed up for a one year contract

Posted on: Aug 18, 2010
Pros
Sound quality is good WHEN IT WORKS
Cons
Customer service is aggressive when you have to call "all the time"

If you use Phone Power without a router, you might be a satisfied customer,  but if you have to use one like me, you will find yourself calling customer service all the time: The 1st time I called, they told me that there was an IP conflict between my main computer and the Phone power box (I had T-Mobile @home for 2 years with the same config & never had this kind of issue): We stayed on the phone for about 25 min and they "solved" the pb. 3 days later the service was down. When I called 2 weeks later because of no time, they told me that my phone device is not getting enough power from the wall!! (again, I had T-Mobile @home for 2 years with the same config and same phone device & never had this kind of issue): I change the location of my phone unit and the pb was solved. 3 days later the service was down. I called them today and they told me (with an aggressive and unhappy tone) that my IP keep changing, that's why I keep having problems. Of course my IP is supposed to change all the time since I do not pay for a static IP from my internet provider. Unless you are running a server I do not see why you will need a static IP. I am waiting for someone to call me, waste my time and have the service down in a couple of days.I have been with this company for 5 months now and my phone has been down 25 days per month. Unfortunately I signed up for a one year contract. At this point, I think I'm going to break the contract and go to another provider

To RIGHT

My phone power adapter has been working fine now for two years,  and I have a router.

Your router must be connected directly to your Internet Service and I am using FIOS  hi speed.

the other electronics (PCs and two phone adapters) plug into the router secondarily.   All works great.

what is your D / UP speed?    too slow cosider upgrading for best VOIP tel service.

Not what I wanted in a company

Posted on: Aug 13, 2010
Pros
Knowledgeable staff. decent sound quality and a good price.
Cons
Horrible service interruptions. Too much down time.

I ordered Phone Power for a few months.  It seemed like outages would keep happening almost on a daily basis by the time I cancelled my account.  I could never trust the phone to stay working.  Got stuck in an emergency room and couldn't call home as they had another outage.  If they could fix their actual downtime (not what they post) it would be a good company.  Don't try and contact them during an outage,  their webbased communications would shut down before you got to them, and surprisingly their tech support answering machine was full and wouldn't take messages.  Not what I wanted in a company.

It's great that they offer a free softphone in your account. The fax catcher is handy too. I'm very pleased with the call quality and the speed of which my questions are attended to by customer service. On top of that, the prices are great. I picked the 2 year prepaid at 199.95. Can't complain!
