BroadVoice is a business and residential VoIP service provider that can replace your local phone service provider.

Unlimited In-State Plan

For $9.95 a month, per month, get unlimited calling in your state with Broadvoice's Unlimited In-State Plan.

Long distance calls to other states in US (and provinces in Canada) are just 3.9 cents a minutes.

Broadvoice's offer is a little different than other VoIP providers. Broadvoice’s Unlimited In-State plan makes it much easier to see how much cheaper it is than your current PSTN phone service provider.

Overall, with taxes, the first month costs around $30 and other months cost $14 a month (you have to pay for shipping and handling for the router). Most of the other providers out there offer low rates if you give them $200 up front. PSTN phone service providers, of course, charge $40 to $50+ a month, with long distance at 10 cents and up.

Additional Broadvoice Plans

Unlimited USA Plus

Broadvoice offers the traditional VoIP phone service plan (unlimited calls in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico) for $17.95 a month. With taxes, that's about $24 a month.

The US also includes Alaska and Hawaii, which is a decent deal.

Unlimited World

Broadvoice also offers a few of international calling plans:

  • Unlimited World
  • Unlimited World PLUS
  • Unlimited World PREMIUM

The difference between these plans is price and service area.

Unlimited World lets you call 29 countries (including some mobile phone numbers) for $19.95 a month ($25 with taxes).

PLUS means you can all the countries from the Unlimited World plan and 51 additional countries for $24.95 a month (around $30 with taxes).

Finally, PREMIUM allows you to dial 91 countries for $49.95 a month (in 62 countries of those, you can also call a mobile number). With taxes,Unlimited World PREMIUM runs about $60 a month. With PREMIUM, BroadVoice requires a one year contract commitment. In their terms of service, BroadVoice states that they will charge a $99 termination fee (alternatively, they'll charge you to complete the contract if that's less).

Terms and Conditions

BroadVoice marks all its unlimited plans with an asterisk (which seems to indicate an alternative definition of unlimited other than 'without limit'). It doesn't look like BroadVoice currently has a Fair Use Limit which is nice, but they do limit you to making successful phone calls.

Make sure that majority of your calls are over 6 seconds and you'll be totally fine (the only language I saw in their terms and conditions that referred to call limits was a formula for users not having 20% of their calls being less than 6 seconds).

BroadVoice Has Been Awesome

Pros
great call quality, quick customer service
Cons
haven't noticed any cons yet

So here is my review:

About a year and a half ago our household still used traditional landline telephone service, and since we didn't seem to be using the house phone very often (everyone in our family has a cell phone), my husband suggested getting rid of the house line all together in order to save money. Maybe I am "old school", but I don't like the idea of not having a landline phone in my house, even if we all do have cell phones. So I made a compromise that I would research broadband phone service and get a plan for us that would allow us to keep our home phone service for a good price. I found this site, and ended up going with Broadvoice. I am glad I did because there is no difference in the call quality or reliability compared to our old traditional phone service, and the cost savings are big for us. If you're like me and want a solid home phone line without having to spend a whole lot, then check out Broadvoice.

New Customer and could not be happier!

Pros
Great customer service, cheaper than the phone I had previously.
Cons
So far, the service has been good enough to not have any complaints.

After years of frustration with my old phone line, I recently switched to BroadVoice, and I have been very impressed with the quality of the phone calls and the phone bills I have been receiving. I have realized that switching to BroadVoice was a great decision for me during these tough economic times because it saves me a significant amount of money per month. I would recommend it to anyone because not only is the service great, it is also considerably cheaper than other phone options. I currently use it for my home phone and business phone, as I run my business out of my home. it has many features that I did not even know I could get with the standard plan. makes me wonder why I did not switch over sooner!

More than gets the job done for home phone service

Pros
Does everything I need it to and more
Cons
can't think of any

We finally switched over to Broadvoice for our home phone system and couldn't be happier. We had initially made the switch over from regular telephone service to VoIP about a year ago, but we made the mistake of going with Vonage. With Vonage we struggled with reliability and customer service. Since switching to Broadvoice three months ago, we have been very satisfied with the quality of phone service. We have not experienced any outages up to this point, and when we had a question about a feature, Broadvoice's customer service agent was quick to get it addressed. Definitely recommend them.

Best thing for the price I have ever bought

Pros
Cost ease of installation
Cons
none so far

My god, why didn’t I find Broadvoice a long time ago. I could cry about giving my local phone company all of that money for NOTHING. I signed up on line and got going almost immediately. The quality has been good and he service so far has been seamless. I would recommend to anyone looking for a home or home office phone service.

We used Broadvoice for 4 months. In those 4 months, the service went down MULTIPLE times

Pros
Cheap, easy setup
Cons
Customer Service, Connection Reliability, Company as a whole

We used Broadvoice for 4 months. In those 4 months, the service went down MULTIPLE times, lost our connection, it would come back periodically. When this would happen, I would attempt to contact Customer Service and was waiting on hold for 30 min + sometimes, by the time they would answer the service would be back up again and wouldn't get anywhere with support. Sometime I'd just give up after being on hold for so long. After talking with support they only had a few suggestions and wouldn't help out any further. Terrible company, terrible organization. I would never recommend anyone to use them for serivces, it doesn't work! look at the other reviews, their employees have no clue!

Broadvoice is ok

Pros
Cons

I have had Broadvoice for almost 2 years and am somewhat satisified. Its good, not the best, has great usability, but its costing me $32 a month (on the $19 plan). They say it only cost $19 but then they hit you with all like of fees!
