Check craigslist in your area for people looking for someone to assume their contract.

I signed up for Clearwire when I was living In Marysville, WA.  When I first plugged it into the wall in my bedroom, I could not get a signal in my downstairs bedroom.  I called Clearwire to complain,  They suggested trying it somewhere else in the house.  I tried it in My dining room upstairs.  It seemed to work ok most of the time, but there were periods that it would freeze up and I would have to unplug it from the wall and try to get the signal once again. I tolerated this mediocre internet service for 4 months.  Then I lost my job, and I had to start looking for work.  My occupation is very specialized and my next took me to Little Rock Arkansas.  So I packed up my things and moved to Little Rock Arkansas last weekend.  The first thing i did was to plug in my laptop and my Clearwire modem into the wall to check my email, and I found out that it did not work in my new apartment.  When I finally started working at my new job, I checked the internet at my work desk and found out that the Clearwire service is not offered in the whole state of Arkansas.  So I called customer service to cancel my internet service with them and they told me that I would have to pay their early termination fee. Or they would waive the early termination fee is I find them someone to assume my contract with them.  They suggested advertising the modem for sale in Craigslist.  I checked Craigslist and I noticed that there were at least 3 dozen people trying to find somone to assume their Craigslist contract.  With this kind of competition, it is really ridiculous.  Its clear that Clearwire is out to rip off the public and I cannot recommend their service to anyone.  Its a very cheap internet service, but you definitely get what you pay for.  Nothing compares with the quality of a cable internet service. I have seen other review blogs on Clearwire and I have read that the www.BBB.org is very helpful in resolving customer complaints regarding a refund, so I would recommending sending in a complaint to them.  You have nothing to lose, and you may get your money back in 10 days if they are successful..
