Is this speed test good or bad?
Is this speed test good or bad?
Hi,
Just found this site and hope someone can explain the speed test result. I'm using several Vonage lines (two of their adapters) on a Comcast cable connection.
The jitter number (you -> server) = 1.9ms
Packet loss is 0
Packets out of order is 0
Number of supported voip lines = 18
Maximum download pause = 160ms
Average download pause = 13ms
Quality of service = 30%
The "summary" page has four green balls that say my voip quality should be good. But there's a red ball for QoS and it says my voip calls are likely to be "broken."
My Vonage voice calls actually sound pretty good and not "broken" at all. How significant a factor is the QoS if everything else is good?
Is there something I can do to improve the QoS? Is that something that Comcast can fix and, if so, what exactly should I tell them or ask for?
