Onsite vs. Hosted Solution

Hi, why would someone prefer an onsite Business VoIP solution to a Hosted solution? It sounds like in both the short term and long term, an onsite solution would be much more expensive. Wouldn't onsite mean that you have to do any 'repairs' yourself, and that addons would be a lot more expensive? What advantages does onsite have, if any?
