fax incompatibility

I have ATTUverse high speed and installed Vonage VOIP phone service. Now my fax machine won't received faxes. I can send faxes but can't received them. Hewlette Packard and Vonage both tell me that the fax machine is analog and not compatible with a digital service like Vonage. Some tech people have told me the problem is with Vonage that switching to another VOIP service will solve the problem. Vonage told me I needed a digital fax machine but computer stores like Fry's Electronics have no ides about such a machine. Does anyone have any experience in this?
