Virtual PBX Complete with VoIP Anywhere Earns Top Recognition from Telephony Industry Leader

One of the telecommunication industry's leading trade magazines, TMC, has recognized Virtual PBX with a 2012 TMC Labs Innovation Award.

The TMC award, now in its 13th year, recognizes product and service excellence that results in "significant contributions toward improving communications technology" through:

  • Raw innovation
  • Unique features
  • Starting a new trend
  • Carving a new market niche

Virtual PBX was one of 14 recipients honored with the TMC Labs Innovation Award. Virtual PBX was cited for its comprehensive cloud PBX VoIP phone system for small and medium businesses, Virtual PBX Complete, now featuring VoIP Anywhere.

Introduced in the fall of 2011, VoIP Anywhere supports the use of personal smartphones as workplace extensions. With VoIP Anywhere and a supportive BYOD policy, employee phones can display company caller ID information when making calls, and receive calls to an extension on their personal phones.

VoIP Anywhere lets employees using their own device avoid tapping into the minutes on their own cellular plan by using 3G/4G and WiFi connection points. VoIP Anywhere also offers HD Voice for HD Voice-compatible devices.

VoIP Anywhere uses the open-source SIP protocol and supports the use of any registered softphone as an extension. Once the softphone is registered with the corporate Virtual PBX Complete system, the smartphone user can access all the functions of the PBX as they would at a regular office extension:

  • Call recording
  • Presence management
  • Call transfers
  • Caller ID
  • Low international calling rates

Winners of TMC's Innovation Awards are recognized in an issue of Internet Telephony.
