VoIP-Different Users

My Internet statistics are following Download: 1,193,704 bps Upload: 297,976 bps QOS: 39% RTT: 365 ms MaxPause: 144 ms Test #: 46791 My Quality of Sound is much better in branded application like skype, yahoo but falters if we use in-house flash communication server based application.

Re: VoIP-Different Users

Why did the voip speed tester say you both have such poor Quality of Service? I have the least expensive DSL but have 99% QOS....what internet connections do you use?

Re: VoIP-Different Users

Jeff, Its probably due to the high roundtrip and max pause times. To overcome those issues you need to add some latency into the hardware. You can get away with correcting up to about 200 ms with little degradation to the conversation. Beyond that the latency in the conversation starts becoming a problem. Re: VoIP-Different Users

Hi Dennis, How do we do what you just said? I have really high max puase times and it is driving me crazy! I hjust had the guys come over and switch out my dsl modem but have the same problem. Please help. DSL connection Max pause times from 100ms to 700+. Modem by Linksys through Vonage. Tried running the DSL cable from the modem right to my computer with similiar results.
