Hi, I found this in another post which should help you: http://voipreview.org/Forum/thread/794.aspx. I haven't heard too much about Micro PBX's, but i'm guessing it's probably used simply to conserve space.
Hey Michelle A Micro PBX is a 1-box small device that is connected to the Cable or DSL modem and provides a full featured IP PBX to small and home office. It is usually not expensive, can handle lots of conventional PBX features with a real small space and its real easier to setup. Its like a midterm about having an ATA or a IP PBX Server. Some examples of Micro PBX available in the market are: Linksys Voice System 9000 and AriaVoice SOHO Micro-PBX. I Hope I helped you out on that.
