Frazzled & frustrated at Voip quality
First ime posting. Hoping you guys can help. First, when it works, it works well, when it doesn't, my 'gizmo' as SR calls it, is no better than a paperweight. During the time I need it most, the business hours is when service is worst. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. Comcast cable says it's a problem with Sunrocket and Sunrocket says it's Comcast. Can someone tell me who is the problem; where the problem lies, and how it can be fixed? I've power cycled the modem, still no change. I unhooked the router and connected the gizmo accordingly, still no change. I'm ready to cancel my service and go back to a landline. DL: 13.9; UL: 368kbps; Quality of Service: 63%; Jitter 44%; MOS Score 3.7. Thanks, CHuck

Hi Chuck, were you running any other programs at the time of the test? I've heard of another SR case where problems arose during 'high traffic' hours like you mentioned. Does it work fine at other times? You may also want to check out some of the troubleshooting categories in this forum, I think a couple people offer ideas in there that may help you out. Chuck I have SunRocket & Comcast, and I have the same kind of quality issues. From what I know the problem is really with your ISP (Comcast) provider.The reason I say this is because I've had Comcast replace everthing in the cable system to the backyard terminal, used my son's Vonage modem, and the results are the same. In fact I belive it's Comcast because numerors times my internet connection complelty dropps & I get nothing. This can stay this way for hours so I belive everything comes from the cable quality. Now will Comcast really fix the problem I don't know. I might be the only VOIP phone customer on my line so they might say it's not worth it to uprade the system from my house downline. I'm being patient right now but I might have to go back to AT&T which I hate to , but my wife is demanding something get done. Hope this helps, PHIL
