Unable to call some 1-800 numbers

Is anyone having issues calling 1-800 numbers? It's been fine for me for almost a year up until last month, but now I get a message "You can not call this # from your area code 1-3-60 (???). Below is response from my provider: .... that sometimes our customers have problems calling Canadian 800 numbers from Canada because they are routed through the U.S. and therefore look like they are coming from the U.S. rather than from Canada. I did send a trouble ticket to my advisor concerning this issue. The response was that we have been actively seeking a resolution for this for some time now, though we do not have one as of yet. Because the majority of the issue lies with Canadian telecom companies and how they receive the information, an accurate time frame of when this will be resolved cannot be forecasted.

Sone 800 numbers are a reginal 800 number which means only if your voip provider comes off the internet in the area or state you are in. example vonage comes out of new jersey and then goes on the regular phone lines. so if you are calling an 800 number that is a reginal number to say kansas you will not be able to call that reginal 800 number because your call is comming from new jersey not kansas. there are alot of reginal 800 numbers that are that way even if you use a regular phone if you are not in that region you will get the same results can not call from your area. Hope this helps
